It’s a terrific concept - one that pays you to hang out. YUWIE opened its doors in June of 2007, and in November 2007 (till25th) over 70,000 new members have signed-up, and growing by thousands each and every day. So what exactly is drawing all these people to YUWIE?
In the other social networking communities that we’ve discussed, people are quite picky about who they choose to be friends with. On YUWIE, one of the goals is to add as many friends to your list as possible – whether you have found a ‘personal’ connection with that person or not. The reason for this is that YUWIE is giving back to their community members, in the form of money. You will get paid for everything that you do on YUWIE, from uploading pictures, writing blog posts, creating and participating in groups, meeting new friends, and much more.
Much like the monster communities, YUWIE is supported revenue from advertisements on their website, and each month they calculate the income they earned and return a portion of that income to its members in the form of revenue sharing. Their only requirement is that you must receive 1000 page views in order to be eligible to receive your revenue shares. 1000 may sound like a lot, but I personally hit that mark within days of being a member.
The more friends you make on YUWIE, the more people visit your profile, read your blog, view your pictures and leave you comments and each one of these actions earns you money. Additionally, you can build a downline, 10 levels deep, though you only have access to view your referrals on the first 3 levels, once you start building your referrals page views also count toward your own, skyrocketing the income potential.
YUWIE is a wonderfully friendly community where everyone is helping each other out. Don’t forget too, there are also groups / clubs to join, or you can create your own. I’ve joined several groups, in order to continue with the same type of social networking that I’ve done on other communities. It’s a lot of fun, and -I’ve met many great people that I otherwise wouldn’t have.
